What is Stock

Related to the Industry standard DORA metrics is the amount of software that still needs to be deployed. We call this metric: 'software stock’.

Software stock allows you to measure if your software teams are delivering as fast as possible. When measuring software stock the trend should not spike upward, as this indicates a LOT of software is created but seems stuck in the pipeline.

With Agile Analytics you can now measure your Software Stock on a department and organisation level. This means you now know if you are delivering changes as fast as possible.

Knowing how much work is waiting to be deployed can make your software delivery more effective. This way, the organisation can minimise the risk of burn-out or defects in production.
